Podia vs. Flodesk: Which one is right for me?
Podia and Flodesk both make it easy to grow an email list and automate your email marketing. But while Flodesk primarily focuses on email, Podia is an all-in-one platform with a wide range of tools for running your entire business.
Every entrepreneur has different needs, so let's see how Podia and Flodesk compare to help you find the right fit.
Pricing and plan limits for Podia and Flodesk
Flodesk has a free plan, but it doesn't include email sending — it just lets you set up a landing page and email sign-up form to start growing your list. To email your audience, you'll need the Pro plan or the Everything plan, and the price goes up as your subscriber list grows.
- Pro: Starts at $28/month (or $25/month paid annually) for 1,000 subscribers. Includes unlimited email sends, unlimited workflows, landing pages, email templates, and sign-up forms.
- Everything: Starts at $54/month (or $49/month paid annually) for 1,000 subscribers. Includes everything in Pro, plus sales pages and checkout features for ecommerce.
Podia has three plans: Mover, Shaker, and Earthquaker. All Podia plans come with your website, digital products, community, and unlimited members and sales.
Podia has a 30-day free trial that lets you test everything before buying.
- Mover: $49/month with a 5% transaction fee ($42/month paid annually). Includes all email features, your community, website builder, blog, landing pages, digital products, and courses, with up to 50 products, 25 community spaces, and 100 email subscribers.
- Shaker: $99/month with 0% transaction fees ($84/month paid annually). Includes everything in Mover, plus affiliate marketing, upsells, 1 assistant seat, and integrations with PayPal, Zoom, and Zapier, with up to 150 products, 100 community spaces, and 500 email subscribers.
- Earthquaker: $179/month with 0% transaction fees ($150/month paid annually). Includes everything in Shaker, with unlimited products, assistant seats, video storage, community spaces, and up to 1,000 email subscribers.
You can pay for more subscribers on any plan as your list grows, and all plans come with unlimited email sends. All Podia plans also include automations, newsletters, email templates, segmentation, tagging, and campaigns.
Podia also includes a free migration service on paid plans. The team will move your email list and campaigns over from another platform so you can get set up faster without the extra work. Learn more about how migrations work here.
Website, landing pages, and blogging
With Flodesk, you can create forms and landing pages on the Pro plan to get people onto your email list. You can also set up sales pages for selling digital products on the Everything plan.
With Podia, you can create a full website for your business that includes your landing pages and sales pages. Any time you make a product, Podia automatically generates a sales page and checkout flow so you can earn money from your work. You can also create a dedicated newsletter sign-up page to grow your list.
Podia also comes with blogging built in, so you can grow your audience through organic search and share what you know to build trust and authority.
Checkout and digital products
On Podia, all plans include the ability to sell digital products like courses, coaching, digital downloads, events, and community access. Podia comes with a user-friendly online course platform where you can create drip, cohort, self-study, and access-limited courses. You can also sell memberships, add upsells, and charge for subscriptions.
All products can be free or paid, and you can create payment plans and coupons if you'd like to offer discounts. When someone makes a purchase, Podia handles product delivery instantly. You can also email customers of a specific product or automatically add them to email campaigns.
Podia includes affiliate management, too, so you can incentivize happy customers to help market your products. Third-party affiliate tools can get pricey fast, and having this built in means you can easily communicate with your affiliates without connecting and paying for add-ons.
With Flodesk, you get ecommerce and selling features on the Everything plan. This includes sales pages, checkout pages, upsells, payment plans, and instant file delivery — essentially a cart feature for selling things you've built elsewhere.
So while it is possible to sell a course, you can’t use Flodesk to make a course because Flodesk doesn't include an online course builder. You can sell courses hosted on other platforms like Podia through the Flodesk checkout, but you can't build course modules, lessons, or videos natively within Flodesk.
Flodesk also doesn’t have events or a community feature, so you’ll need to connect other tools to add those elements to your business.
