Podia and AWeber each have several plan options.

With Podia, you’ll start by choosing a Mover or Shaker plan. (You can also sign up for a 30-day free trial to test out Podia’s features here!)

  • Mover: $39/month, includes unlimited digital products, unlimited courses, and our simple online course builder

  • Shaker: $89/month, includes everything on the Mover plan plus affiliates

All plans include your first 100 email subscribers for free. You can add more subscribers for an additional fee.

  • Up to 100 subscribers: Free

  • Up to 500 subscribers: $9/month

  • Up to 1500 subscribers: $17/month

  • Up to 2500 subscribers: $25/month

  • Up to 5000 subscribers: $42/month

There is no email send limit with Podia, so you can send as many messages as you like on all plans. All plans have full email marketing features like segments, tags, automations, and campaigns, so you only need to upgrade if your subscriber list grows.

With AWeber, you can choose from the following plans:

  • Free: Up to 500 subscribers

  • Lite: Starting at $14.99/month for up to 500 subscribers

  • Plus: Starting at $29.99/month for up to 500 subscribers

  • Unlimited: $899/month with unlimited subscribers

AWeber’s free plan includes up to 500 subscribers but you can only send 3,000 emails per month. You’re also limited to one automation, one email list, and one landing page. You’ll get ecommerce functionality that works through Stripe, and you’ll have access to email and chat support.

Lite and Plus plans increase in price as you add more subscribers, but you’ll get unlimited email sends. On the Unlimited plan, you can add as many subscribers as you want for a flat rate, but your email sends are limited to 12x subscriber volume per month.

To illustrate, let’s say you have an email list with 5,000 subscribers. With Podia, you could have 5,000 subscribers for $42/month. For that price, you’d get your full website, unlimited pages, a digital download, a coaching product, and your blog, as well as unlimited segments and automations.

With AWeber, you could choose between the Lite, Plus, and Unlimited plans for the following prices:

  • Lite: $44.99/month for up to 5,000 subscribers

  • Plus: $59.99/month for up to 5,000 subscribers

  • Unlimited: $899/month for unlimited subscribers

On the Lite plan, you’d get three email automations, three landing pages, and one custom segment. The Plus and Unlimited paid plans both come with unlimited automations, landing pages, and custom segments.

Can I use segments, tags, and automations?

You can use segments, tags, and automations to organize your list with Podia and AWeber.

Podia makes it easy to create custom tags and add people to segments based on their interests or actions. You can also filter audience members by how much money they’ve spent with you, how many products they’ve purchased, and their level of engagement with your emails.

Once you have your audience organized the way you like, you can set up campaigns, workflows, and broadcasts to send messages to specific people.

Automatically send a welcome sequence when someone joins your list, a nurture sequence when someone downloads a free lead magnet, a sales funnel to warm leads, or additional resources when someone purchases a product.

With AWeber, you can create one list profile and one automation on the free plan. You can make three automations on the Lite plan, and the Plus and Unlimited plans both come with unlimited lists and automations. You can create one custom segment on the Lite plan and unlimited custom segments on the Plus and Unlimited plans.

How much control do I have over my email design?

Both Podia and AWeber make it easy to design professional-looking emails. With both tools, you can customize your design with images, text, fonts, buttons, dividers, and other elements.

You can use a template as a starting point or create fresh emails that reflect your unique style. Additionally, you can preview your emails to see how they will appear on different devices and screen sizes.

Can I sell digital products and courses?

Podia is an all-in-one platform that makes it easy to sell digital products in the same place you manage your email marketing. Podia has a beginner-friendly online course builder with file hosting built in, so you can house your creative work in the same place where you manage sales and marketing.

With Podia, you can sell:

  • Digital files like ebooks, printables, audio files, and video files

  • Self-paced, cohort, drip, and limited-access online courses

  • Subscriptions and memberships

  • Live and pre-recorded webinars

All your files, course content, and customers live in Podia’s ecosystem, so you can feel confident that everything is connected correctly from day one. Podia connects with Stripe and PayPal for payment processing.

AWeber is different because it doesn’t actually host your products, but it does have a checkout feature. With AWeber Ecommerce, people can pay via Stripe and enter an email sequence where you send them a link to a product (for example, a link to a Dropbox file or an unlisted YouTube video).

This means it’s technically possible to sell digital products, but it’s a bit more complicated to set up since the products aren’t stored with AWeber directly.

Plus, if you need course creation features or community access, you’ll need to integrate with a third-party online course platform or community platform which could come at an extra cost (or require a complex Zapier integration to run).

Are my website, blog, and landing pages included?

Your website is your opportunity to tell the world about your business, and Podia includes a full website and blog on all plans.

Using Podia’s point-and-click website builder makes it easy to customize the look and feel of your site with professionally designed text, image, grid, bio, email form, featured, link, FAQ, testimonial, category, and product sections.

Plus, Podia comes with a built-in blogging feature so you can share blog posts without having to deal with extra platforms, integrations, add-ons, or plugins. There’s even a blog post emailing feature where you can publish a post and automatically send it to your email list in seconds.

AWeber does not include a website or blogging tool so you’ll need to integrate with a third-party website platform like Podia, Squarespace, WordPress, or Shopify.

(Yep, Podia integrates with AWeber! You’re welcome to use both platforms together if you like, but in our experience, having your email service in the same place as your website, blog, and products saves a ton of time and hassle.)
