Pricing and plan limits for Podia and MailerLite
Both Podia and MailerLite have competitively priced email marketing tools, but what you get on the free plan differs.
With MailerLite, the free plan includes up to 1,000 subscribers, but you have a limit of 12,000 email sends per month. You can build a website but you’re limited to 10 landing pages and you cannot sell digital products. Additionally, you only get access to support for the first 30 days of your subscription.
Podia’s free plan includes up to 100 subscribers and unlimited email sends. You can sell one digital download, one coaching product, and create a membership community. You can also build a full website with unlimited landing pages, and you have unlimited email support for as long as you need.
When you’re ready to upgrade, both Podia and MailerLite have paid plans that can accommodate your growth.
With Podia, you can choose the Free, Starter, Mover, or Shaker plan and add on email subscribers as needed.

MailerLite has the following plans:

The Growing Business and Advanced plans increase in price as you gain more subscribers.
Let’s say you have an email list with about 10,000 subscribers. With Podia, you could use the free plan with the email add-on, bringing your total cost to $63/month. You would also have all the perks of Podia’s free plan, including your full website, community functionality, customer messaging, and the ability to sell a digital product and coaching offer.
With MailerLite, you would not be eligible for the free plan so you’d have to use the Growing Business or Advanced plan. The Growing Business plan costs $73/month for 10,000 subscribers and the Advanced plan costs $110/month for 10,000 subscribers, but neither of these plans include a community, customer messaging, or the ability to sell coaching.
Can I use segments and automations
Segments and tags make it easy to communicate with a particular subset of your audience. Automations allow you to automatically send emails when subscribers take certain actions, like opt-in to your email list, buy a product, or join your membership.
Both Podia and MailerLite allow you to create as many audience segments as you like. You also get unlimited tags with Podia but MailerLite has a cap of 250 tags on all plans. Both platforms also allow you to schedule and automate your email campaigns and newsletters on all plans.
How much creative control do I have over my email design?
You want your emails to look great. Podia and MailerLite both include an easy-to-use email builder with pre-styled blocks so you can design to your heart’s content. You can also use a template as your starting point.
Newsletter and email templates are included on all Podia plans, including the free plan, so you can feel confident that your message looks professional and on-brand.
With MailerLite, you can only use newsletter templates on the Growing Business plan and Advanced plan, but not on the free plan. If you want access to the template library, upgrading is required.
Are websites and landing pages included?
A full website with pages where you can promote your email list is included with Podia and MailerLite. Both come with a free subdomain and web hosting, so you don’t have to worry about setting that up on your own.
With Podia, you can build a website and unlimited pages on the free plan. Podia’s website page builder is easier than drag and drop and you can customize your fonts, colors, layouts, header, footer, and every section on the pages of your website. You can see examples of real Podia websites here.
With MailerLite, you can create a website and ten landing pages on the free plan, but you’ll need to upgrade to the Growing Business plan if you’d like unlimited landing pages.
Sell your products and manage your email list from one platform
You can sell digital products on Podia and MailerLite, but the key difference is that Podia lets you start selling on the free plan while MailerLite requires a paid plan for selling products.
On Podia, you can sell one digital download, one coaching product, and online community memberships on the free plan, making this a great option for starting out. For many creators, being able to test out business ideas and products without the commitment of a monthly payment takes the pressure off.
As your business grows, you can upgrade to sell unlimited digital products, including courses, community plans, webinars, coaching, and any type of file you can imagine. You can also offer product bundles, set access duration limits, create drip email courses, run cohort programs, and increase revenue through upsells. You can use Stripe or PayPal as your payment processor with Podia.
On MailerLite, you can test out selling products with a free trial, but you’ll need to upgrade to the Growing Business or Advanced plan to continue selling products after your 30-day trial ends. There’s no built-in online course platform or community feature, so you’re more limited in the type of products you can offer your audience. You can use Stripe as your payment processor with MailerLite.
How can I get support if I get stuck?
Even the most tech-savvy entrepreneurs will have questions as they grow, and it’s important to have quick and reliable access to support when you need it.
With MailerLite, email support and live chat support are only available for the first 30 days. After that, you have no support on the free plan aside from knowledge base documents.
