Introducing online course certificates

Transcript

Hello creators! I’m Ben Toalson from Podia, and today, I’m excited to share with you a new feature we’ve just made available for online courses…

Certificates!

If you’re a Podia creator on our Shaker or Earthquaker plan, you have access to this feature right away and can start offering certificates to your students who complete your online course. Certificates are a great way to provide extra motivation and give your students a tangible representation of having successfully completed your course.

Let me show you how it works.

In your Podia dashboard, under “Products,” click on the “Edit” button next to your online course. Next, click on the “Details” tab. Scroll down and in the “Options” section, click the toggle that says “Provide certificates for this course”. You can now preview the certificate, and it’ll automatically fill in the certificate with the information from your course.

The course title here is a little bit long, so I’m going to go ahead and make some edits. Back in the “Options” section, I’m going to click on the “Edit” button next to “Certificate”. From here, I can add a specific logo, or I can just let it use my site logo as a default. You can edit the certificate title, the name subtitle, certificate subtitle, and your course name.

Like I said, my course name is a little bit long, so I’m going to shorten it.

Below the text fields, you can also select whether you’d like to show the completion date, or whether or not you’d like to show a unique certificate serial number.

Below this, you can choose to automatically send an email notification to students who complete your course. Checking this box gives you the option to edit the subject and the body of the email.

Once you’re finished, you can click “Preview” again to make sure everything looks okay. And then when you’re all done, just click “Save changes”.

As I said before, if you are on our Shaker or Earthquaker plan, this feature is available to you right away. You can go into your dashboard and check it out.

If you’re not a Podia user, but you’ve been thinking about offering online courses, you can go to podia.com/signup and get a free 14-day trial where you can try out this feature and many others that we offer for online course creators.
